Chancellor Park Primary School’s Sports Funding 2019/20

Chancellor Park Primary School’s Sports Funding 2019/20

The government is providing additional funding of £150 million per year to improve provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools. This funding – provided jointly by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport – is allocated to primary schools up to 2020.

This funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision of PE and sport in schools.

Chancellor Park Primary School has bought into the Chelmsford Schools Sports’ Partnership (CSSP) which provides competitions in a variety of sports and also training to support teaching staff.

We have put in place an action plan to ensure this funding will improve our PE provision across the school. We plan to use this funding as stated below;

Approximate funding school will receive is £18,106 for the financial year  April 2019- March 2020

Chancellor Park Primary School PE Targets 2019-20

Long term objectives for 2019-20

  • To provide a broad and varied programme of PE to ensure all children have a chance to shine.
  • To achieve the Gold Kite mark by sending an A, B and C team to a L2 event.
  • To continue to regularly update parents on sporting events/ competition news from L2 competitions.
  • To ensure that at least 70% of pupils represent the school in an out-of-school Level 2 competition or event.
  • To provide opportunities for Least Active and SEN children to take part in an out-of-school sporting event.
  • To increase the amount of young leaders in Year 5 and 6.
  • To show an increased focus on mental health and wellbeing through lessons taught in class.

From September 2013, we will be held to account over how we spend our additional, ring-fenced funding.

(Includes increased numbers of pupils participating in an increased range of competitive opportunities as well as success in competitions)

Ofsted will strengthen the coverage of PE and sport so that both schools and inspectors know how sport and PE is assessed in future as part of the school’s overall provision.

If you have any questions or queries regarding our PE provision please do not hesitate to come and ask me.

Many thanks,

Miss Burns   Sports leader at Chancellor Park Primary School
